BugMuncher’s Form Builder allows you to choose what fields are displayed on your feedback forms, and in what order.
Currently BugMuncher offers 5 different fields types, Feedback Category, Email Address, Subject, Customer Name, and Message. More fields will be added soon, as well as the ability to set up completely custom fields.
By default, all websites have the Feedback Category, Email Address and Message fields, all optional, in that order.
When ever you make any changes on the form builder, you’ll need to click the Save Changes button at the top right of the page, other wise the changes will not be saved, or visible on the feedback form.
To add a new field, click the Add New Field button at the top right of the page, and choose which field you’d like to add from the drop down.
If the Add New Field button is not visible, this means you have already added all of the fields to this website. Each field can only be added once.
You can stop a field from being displayed on the feedback form without deleting it by unchecking its Active checkbox.
Once you deactivate a field, you will then be given the option to delete that field.
By default, all fields are optional. You can make them required by checking the Required checkbox.
The fields are displayed on the feedback form in the same order they are shown in the form builder.
You can change this order by clicking a field’s up and down icons next to its icon.
Some fields have extra options, these are explained in detail in the Fields section below.
The Feedback Category field is displayed as a dropdown list of categories. By default these categories are:
You can view and edit these categories by clicking the blue Edit Categories button on the field.
You can re-order the categories using the up and down arrows in the same way you can re-order fields. You can also stop categories from being shown on the feedback field by unchecking its Active checkbox.
Due to BugMuncher being available in multiple languages, you can not rename or delete default categories. You can however create custom categories, which can have any name you choose.
To create a custom category, simply click the Add Custom Category button, type your chosen category name, and click OK.
Note: Custom category names must be unique, and can not start with an underscore (_)
You can delete custom categories, although they must be deactivated first.
You can translate the name of your custom category by clicking its Translate button, and then entering your required translated names.
The Email Address field is displayed as a single line text box, and includes basic email address validation.
With the email address field, you can also choose to display a checkbox asking users if they’d like to receive updates from you.
To display this checkbox, click the Email Address field’s blue More Options button, and then check the Show Email Opt-in field checkbox.
You can download a list of all the opted in email addresses from the Edit Website area of the control panel.
The Subject field is displayed as a single line text box, and has no additional validation.
The Customer Name field is displayed as a single line text box, and has no additional validation.
The Message field is displayed as a four line text box, and has no additional validation.
